Several brothers within the Roswell Lodge have felt the "pinch" of lives ending uncelebrated. And yet, like I do, they also think Freemasons are especially prepared to accept this inescapable result of living. Maybe there are a few other brothers who also contemplate what we will leave ... not what we can take with us. Recently, there has been significant progress in developing and executing the special requirements of a Masonic Funeral (aka Masonic Burial or Masonic Memorial). Just a few lines quoted from the last service led by Roswell brothers may move some more brothers to demonstrate our special relationship connecting us to the ultimate power of the Universe - - as laid out by the Great Architect: The Master, and officers and brothers assembled, "take their places around the coffin... If a man dies, shall he rise again?" Response all: "The dust shall return to the earth as it was, and the Spirit to God who gave it.... " "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Response all: "God is our God forever. He will be our guide and support through the dark valley of the shadow of death." We are not just lifting up a brother ... we are sustaining the promise that the brother's Widow, or his orphans, will be embraced by the lodge. We have already had some volunteers who want to serve on a permanent team, but we need a few more to make the team complete. If you are willing to proceed, please reach out to: Past Master Mike Roman [email protected] 770-380-1033 Lodges in several States are beginning normal activities this week. We need to be prepare to restart our normal activities as well.
